Little Penguin SurferThe primary goal of the FloatSuit is to help prevent accidental drowning of children. Unfortunately, each year many children drown in Australia. The majority of these deaths occur in inland waters and swimming pools and result when a child accidentally falls into a body of water they were playing next to, or becomes exhausted while swimming and is unable to keep themselves afloat. It is the horror of any parent when they look across a body of water and cannot see any part of their child.

A child who is wearing a FloatSuit will not disappear below the surface of the water. They will float until they can be rescued by a parent or guardian. Children should always be supervised around any body of water. The FloatSuit assists in the vigilance of parents and lifeguards in supervising children, and as such, increases safety for children around bodies of water.

When children are introduced to the water wearing a FloatSuit, their experiences are largely more fun and less fearful, than if they are not wearing a FloatSuit. They are safer, protected from sunburn, and less prone to becoming cold. FloatSuits also assist parents and guardians in supervising children around bodies of water.

At FloatSuits Australia, we believe that our product helps the entire family to enjoy the water more, and that a child who wears a FloatSuit will have a more positive experience with the water. which will give them a confidence, rather than a fear, with which to begin their lifelong relationship with the water.

Children should be introduced to water as early as possible, preferably well before reaching school age. Early encounters by toddlers to water under adult supervision at all times help promote confidence and diminish fear and panic which are amongst the greatest causes of drowning.

Encouraging a child to safely develop confidence in the water and a natural swimming position with complete freedom of movement are the key aims behind the FloatSuits.
